Rivers & Coastal Business Manager
Due to continued success my client is recruiting a forward thinking, dynamic and innovative Manager to meet their company needs as they are one of the most successful multi-disciplined consultancies in Europe!
Your role will be to manage all commercial and technical aspects of the team and support the Principal Engineer in the development of new business in the team and across the region.
Seek and support opportunities in other regions across the UK and internationally. Develop the commercial performance of the team across its operations and activities within the Leeds office, as well as supporting initiatives nationally and internationally.
Essential
• Working knowledge of flood risk management and/or coastal management including Environment Agency and Defra policies and procedures
• Excellent project management capabilities
• Excellent knowledge of business and QSE procedures
• Proven experience in identifying and following through on leads with new & existing clients
• Ability to lead or assist in the preparation of major bids
• Understanding of current market and client needs
• Ability to understand business imperatives and prioritise work load
• Ability to contribute to an effective business unit strategy, including targets and performance indicators as appropriate
• Proven experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal staff and clients
• Excellent communications skills - written and verbal
• Assist with the preparation of the Strategy and Business Plans for the business unit on a rolling basis including staffing requirements.
Responsibilities
• As the successful candidate you will be responsible for contributing to the preparation of annual budgets and bi-annual salary reviews for the business unit.
• Manage activities of the team to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
• Act as Project Manager on projects of major significance and ensure work is delivered to a consistently high quality.
• Staff management in each area of the business unit.
